We do not deal with rescue cats directly ourselves so as not to compromise our hygiene precautions and to protect our boarders.

However, here is a list of rescue contacts both local and national.

Don't forget to contact your local vet also.

LOCAL CONTACTS ~ please bear in mind these are NOT national helplines (see national contacts below) and can provide assistance only in and around the Glasgow and Ayrshire areas. Many of these are staffed by volunteers, often operating from their own homes. Please remember this if phoning.

We do occasionally foster cats for Pet Fostering Service Scotland. This is a charity providing emergency care for (usually) elderly peoples' pets while they are unable to care for them, most often due to hospital admission. Periods vary from 5 days upward to 6 months but in each case it is very important to that person that they have a pet to return home to.

More volunteer foster homes are always welcome. Could you care for a budgie for a week or two? All types of pets are included in the service. Food and vet costs are met by the owner. If you know someone who loves animals but does not want the long-term responsibility or potential costs of owning their own pet, this may be an answer.
